Most of the parents and students I work with, theres an education in regards to how the body needs to sequence with balance.. Show them lots of video to support the concept. Most of the parents/kids were taught to stride while keeping the hands back. When the first session is done both the parent and kid have felt the balanced sequence of movements...

Boy I'd sure love to see a vid.........

Right Here For Now
"Leaking power"...dude I love that phrase! Seriously!
I can almost hear the air slowing being let out of a balloon, with ceratin miscues or mistakes in a batter's swing, from Leaking Power.

Here's how I would use it...

"My DDs are rotation hitters... and anyone who teaches them a linear hand/ small ball hitting techniques, causes them to Leak Power at a rate of 25-30% from max"...

"Leaking power"... "Power Leakage"...great description! I'll be barkin' that at my DDs all the time now..."Hey! Your leakin' power!" :D

I'm glad your amused;)

I actually use that phrase to great affect around my hitters. Of course, they've been with me for years and understand exactly what I mean when I say it. As to the swing I teach, It's a hybrid swing. I just prefer they keep the bat in contact with the ball as long as possible to make full use of the trampoline affect on the bat and ball and like to have them finish on the line they drive it low to high. How your DD's swing is up to you and has no bearing on what I think or teach.

Oh, I wasn't doggin' your swing...
Sorry it came across that way...

Drivin' it low to high is what I teach my kids...
Now tryin' to get them to not listen to the other 15 people in there life, that teach them to swing down to the ball...and to pivot on their toes and squish the bug...now that's a different story.
