With taller/stronger/longer arms girls, pitchers SEEM to want to jam them all the time.
Knowing their size and long arms, it makes it difficult for them to get around on an inside pitch.
Pitchers did that to me all the time when I played FP, from the mid 1980's to 90's...
My answer then, as it is now...open up a little.
It allows a bigger batter to hit the inside pitch
Plus a bigger, longer armed batter can more easily extend to hit the outside pitch.
Heck, I started teaching my DDs to be overly open, to bait pitchers into throwing an outside pitch...ie. Lexie Elkins stance and swing...Thanks Lotief!
They extend their big, long arms...and go opposite field.

It's sad but, we learned the hard way with my oldest DD.
She was the guinea pig of sorts. With all of the camps, showcases and various pitchers she went up against.
And now with the help from her experiences, and help from the DFP board, my younger DDs are probably 2 -3 years ahead of where DD1 was at the same age when it comes to batting.

If your DD can adapt quickly it's worth a try.

Not here.
Tilt at the rear hip joint - she is a rotator. Good athletes can get away with it. The tilt allows the rear elbow to clear allowing the barrel to reach all locations. It allows you to be a ferris wheel as opposed to a merry go round.

Unfortunately, it is not something easily seen. It is definitely a feel. You can't focus on the belt line. That is too high up.

What you might want to focus on in BOLD before you go on a 'snipe hunt'. Again JMHO.
Need to learn to tilt down to the ball. Bring the body down to the ball(TILT) instead of the hands.
Added: Front shoulder needs to get in the way to then get out of the way....quickly.

Just curious, why did you want to know this

TO ME, she looks much smaller than 5'8" and 180 lbs.
Her body movements looks like a pendulum, as the bat is being swung.
IF she was smaller, that pendulum movement is an indicator TO ME, that she is swinging too big of a bat.

But DRDODD, states that she is 5'8" and 180 lbs.
Look at her shoulders and her build...she is a solid 180lbs
And she's swinging a 33/23.
When I see someone that big swinging and average to undersized bat, and has a pendulum movement like that. It indicates to me that she is REALLY swinging the bat hard...maybe to hard. Almost uncontrolled and violent.
Her front leg pushing back and out, seems to be creating alot of the pendulum movement.
And maybe she's doing that to compensate for the low and inside pitch. As well as the fact that she has a closed off stance/stride.
And she MIGHT be losing alot power because of it.

My youngest DD was doing that up until about 2 years ago or so. She is 5'9" and a skinny looking 175 lbs (lotsa muscle like this girl)
After watching the 572 different Miggy GIFS on DFP, she no longer swings like that. :D
I had all 3 DDs download the Miggy GIF to their phones, as a quick to watch icon on the front page of their phone.. (seriously)
How often do they look at it...I dunno...but every little bit helps.

The two things I immediately noticed is she's off-balance. Yes she's getting her weight through the ball but she's swinging so hard that her back leg finishes WAY out from its starting point. She needs to be balanced. Secondly, she's opening her front shoulder too early to hit this pitch. She needs a little more body tilt and stay in longer with the front shoulder. The cue I use with my DD is "stay Long." It works almost every time to help keeping her shoulder in a tad longer.

WRT the bold. I hear this a lot and for the life of me I can not figure out why being balanced to the ground after a swing is important. Do you mind sharing your thoughts on the matter.

First, I like her swing and intent. IMO, the tilt comments are spot on. Otherwise, I actually want my hitters to unload through the ball where their back foot has a similar action to your dd. As you know, Pujols was the model I used for my dd and he came off that back foot all of the time. He sometimes stepped across the plate as he finished his swing with that back foot. The back hip straightens that front knee and so, she is doing that. She should not give up on being slightly open with that front side. I have my hitters start slightly open and then I have them "get their front hip in the way to get it out of the way." IOWs, in loading their back hip properly, the front hip will move toward the plate and then the unload will have it get out of the way. JMHO!

TDS I would like to hear about you dislike about the swings.

I like the up-front stretch that allows her to release the barrel behind her while being athletic during the whip... If she struggles with certain pitches I would work on adjusting the posture during the up-front stretch. No one can drive every pitch that covers all of the strike zone.. Just look at the results of the best with 2 strikes.
