I like the comments.

There is to much bat lag and a lack of connection. Turning the barrel creates connection to the body instead of dragging the barrel through the swing as she is doing now.

Her bat is going along for the ride. When you "turn the barrel," there is some connection to the arms/hands--especially the top hand. Instead of just pulling the handle into the swing, connection is maintained by working/torqueing the barrel into the swing at "go." From there the barrel is mostly on cruise control.

It's much easier to turn the barrel when there is more stretch and load/coil. I don't see either. She kind of just swings straight from her initial stance. Have her throw some bats into a net of field and feel what it takes to really get it out there. To really get it flying, you'll feel the urge to load/stretch and torque. Remember this feeling and try to apply it to the swing.

You could say the hands don't start to work in this swing until the last 2 pics. You can see it looks like they wait until that point and now the hands are going to get to work.

In it's most basic form the swing should be turning the barrel around the hands while turning the rear leg forward to bring the turning barrel into contact area.

Hardest thing to change is going from a hammering top hand where the hands and upper torso are connected to a swiveling rear hand which is connected to the rear leg.

Ken, thanks for this great photo. It's exactly what I have been telling her. She is having a hard time resetting her swing. It's obvious that the "bat lag" as you call it, where the bat is falling behind her, is not correct. Can you recommend a T-drill to fix this issue? I'll try the throwing the bat drill. Thanks much!

I'm no expert, but I like the feel that bat throwing, walk-throughs and storks give for loading and throwing the barrel through the ball. Load and throw.

Shawn, what does it mean to "set the hands as a rotational point early"? Thanks!

First you have seen the barrel drop and the bat lag on video. You can see this is real time happening, just look for the barrel to drop early in the swing. You have to correct her on every swing.

Second: Setting the hands as a rotational point is the same as turning the barrel. The back leg/hip are the rotational point in the swing during the start. The hands benefit or create their rotational point through the forearms/hands. You set up a deep rotational point for the hands.

I'm no expert either , just know enough to be dangerous ! I think she has a great triangle to build from. Buttermaker, makes a great point about the different hitting styles. I have a hitter going through that exact thing and it is a work in progress for the both of us.
