Female athletes should not hold themselves back. What they deserve is to see how the absolute best swing a bat.

Sorry...where did I say that female athletes are holding themselves back? I think I said that they can certainly get value from watching these men's baseball swings, but would also get value - arguably more value - from seeing great swings from the best females too.

While I agree completely, it's hard when their minds are closed. Young ladies are more open to seeing other young ladies.

No doubt. And even though we all know good swings are good swings, they see a grown man hitting like that. They just may not be able to grasp that they can hit like that, too.

But show her a college hitter, just a few years older than she is, and she thinks "well, I can do that."

You wrote "female athletes still want to see - and deserve to see - examples of other female athletes demonstrating outstanding swings." That to me is a cop out. That to me is holding oneself back. Aspiring hitters should be looking at how the best swing a bat ... regardless of gender. Not to do so would be to hold oneself back. IMO the best swings are at the MLB level ... and the MLB represents an excellent place to study the better swings.

I dont want to beat a dead horse but I would like to see more female swings here as well. Main reason is that when I show players, parents and mainly other coaches what I am trying to describe, they say "thats baseball, softball is different." So, if you have any outstanding female swings, please add them to the post.

A lot of sexism exists, we should fight it when we find it. Its easy to cower and tell the sexists "you are right, girls cant swing like boys do".

Next time you find yourself confronted by sexists, simply show them this side by side video: https://youtu.be/Ick8d9F410Y If that doesnt work maybe just draw a ponytail on an MLB player and tell them its a girl.

There is some merit to the "this is softball not baseball" arguement. The sexist 'girls cant swing like boys do' arguement is garbage.
