Curious in regards to what drills a hitter can do to improve their sequence in regards to hitting?....for example hips before hands etc. I think DD could definitely improve there.

I like "feel" drills like walk ups, storks and throwing the bat. (Most of the walk up drills I've seen demo'd show the crossover step with the back foot going in front. I think this is backwards and prefer the crossover to step behind.)

Generally--beware of drills. Like any tool, they serve a purpose. In the wrong hands they can be useless or even detrimental. Drills should create a feel and sequence. Sometimes, they’re only used briefly, then here and there. There is no magic series of drills that create a good hitter.

Don't you belong in the pitching forum!! Lol!! :)

Personally, I would like to nominate this for post of the year. Also, I agree that 'stepping behind' for the crossover gives me a better 'feel'.

Rooster - Can you define "Long Tee" ? Is that a tee set higher, or using a tee on a field, so you can see the actual flight of the ball? (or c. none of the above)

Don't forget Self toss.....Done correctly should have the proper sequence. No drill can replace a moving ball for teaching the proper sequence. No drill can help with timing the ball but, a ball in the air from a pitcher. I do believe in drills with a purpose. Once that 'purpose' is achieved then move on to another drill. I would start off with hitting opposite drill. I'm rambling......
