DD has a pretty good swing. Planing seems to be a problem sometimes. Is this a sequence problem? Or maybe I need to teach a front arm action ? I notice her front leg locks out pretty quickly( not much bend or for very long). Maybe that could be the cause? I also notice there isn't any 'hand float' in transition. But I don't see ' hand float' in all MLB greats . Anyone else have these problems?

Would be great to get some feedback as I like where we're at right now. I don't want to screw up what she has already worked very hard for. Meaning I don't want to go down a wrong path and spend 2 months fixing it.lol. Been doing that for too long. Starting learning 'turn the barrel ' a year ago. She started with the push swing(high avg. no power) went to the turn hard swing( could only cover half the plate , powerful though) and now we are here . Power numbers have sky rocketed. Batting avg went up. Plate coverage has been accomplished. But it still doesn't satisfy the Hanson principle in my eyes. Been a member here for awhile . Have prolly spent 1-2 hours a day here for years( I know I'm sick). Anytime I have free time I'm here.

FYI: been taking things from Tewks, elite bb, dfp . Those are the resources I have used to get to where we're at right now.

The pitch sequence is out , change , high , inside.

Edit: also used a lot of Donny Busters presentation.

I know now the Chamberlain video wasn't intended to be a joke but in some ways it's instructive. If you took the jersey off and she was unrecognizable we'd be picking her apart. Heck, I've seen some of her videos on Facebook absolutely destroyed. People can nitpick others to death and when you are looking for it you can find it.

I worked in a DI football program and our head coach would always bring a high school tape of Peyton Manning out. He digitized it and kind of talked him down before presenting it to new coaches. "I've heard a few decent things about this kid but really don't think he can play." He'd then bring in video of a kid who was decent at best and talk him up big time. You may, or may not, be surprised how many times the young coaches/GAs picked the stiff over Peyton Manning. The coach made his point very quickly. Make your own evaluations and don't fall into group think in recruiting evaluations.

It wasn't a joke . I just copied the wrong link. When I saw RdB reply, I was very proud of my DD. Then I thought, no that can't be right. My DD swing is ok. Not great. I clicked the link. Sure enough my DD was chamberlain. Haha.

First of all, she's doing some good things. One of the biggest shortcomings of her swing that I see is her stretch/scap pinch or whatever you want to call it is very minimal and her back leg drive could be more explosive. With that said, Chamberlain exhibits just as little stretch/pinch on her video, although her leg drive is significant, although as mentioned earlier she is a little bit more all back/all forward than most prefer.

I also think she can get into her legs a little more during her swing. I don't mind the tall stance (I actually prefer it) but with most top level hitters if you were to draw a line along the top of their head at the start of the swing their head would be below it at the end. Her level never changes no matter the pitch location. Because she doesn't get lower at any point during her swing it makes it more difficult for her to get on plane, in my opinion.

Haha. I get where your coming from flipper. Critics lurk everywhere. I don't mind it. I'm learning. I'm always gonna be learning. I don't have an ego when it comes to much of this stuff. I have relearned the golf swing and the softball swing too many times to count. I'm back to a solid 6 on the course. So relearning is well worth it. DD had her best year after I relearned the softball swing. You get where I'm going. Any suggestions for my DD?
