Yes sir. And IMO "transferring weight" can look different.

I think Bonds is still back around his rear leg in both of these clips although the off speed pitch obviously looks different. The barrel path tells the story.....

Check this clip out. Does it look like what you are saying

I have taught her the move . What do you suggest I teach her to get a light bulb to go on? I thought her barrel was going rearward as her hip was going forward?

It is not about the rear hip turning forward. The rear leg turns the rear hip. What Spartans was saying about her uncoiling then swinging is that the rear leg is not doing the turning. Her pelvis/core is turning away from the rear leg. Which is another way of saying her upper body is leading the swing.

If you were to stand just on the rear leg you could turn yourself open one of three ways

1 - Swing your front leg open which would pull the pelvis open away from your rear leg
2 - Swing your pelvis/core open which would pull away from the rear leg
3 - Turn your rear leg forward which would increase the coil in the rear hip before turning the pelvis forward

If you choose 1 or 2 you are going to swing around your spine and/or front leg
If you choose 3 you have a significantly better chance of swinging behind your rear leg if you learn to turn the barrel around the rear forearm.

Back on the dirt...
Just what I wrote above and to put it even more simply, I'd like to see her go from smooth to explosive. It's not a huge thing but I'd like to see a lot more "boom" than smooth, but that may because the video looks to be in slow motion as well so my critique in that regard probably isn't fair.

What do you suggest for hitters that are not explosive?

I think Buttermaker's advice on the lower half will automatically make her more explosive. I also think that explosiveness can be a mindset. Kaa...BOOOM! or Kaaa....Pow is not just timing but a mindset to be explosive. I honestly think you can't be afraid to strikeout or miss pitches. 1-3 with a bomb and a strikeout is better than 0-for-3 or 1-for-3 with no Ks. Your daughter is absolutely a good enough athlete to be explosive. She just needs to have an explosive mindset coupled with some of the suggestions from others.

Have you tried self toss for distance? And trying to progressively improve max distance? Hard to do without using the lower body or separating/sequencing properly.

Not sure if this was directed at my question but yes we do selftoss and its getting better as well.

I watch the boys swing in the cages and its inspiring to see the explosion they have in their swing. Most of the girls I coach dont have that.
