Sorry, I can't. If you can't see (stretch) it in Frank & Vol hitter I doubt me drawing a red line is going to make it any clearer. Can you al least see them turning the barrel that's missing in your DD.

The stretch that is signified by the line between the rear hip and the hands is accomplished in different ways depending on the hitter. Many of the greats from years ago shifted the hands in an upward direction, which makes that line look more pronounced. Bonds is also a good example of this. A hitter like Kent creates that stretch more by keeping the hands back as the pelvis moves towards the pitcher. The same kind of stretch, but less pronounced if you are just referring to the line. The game gif is fuzzy and really hard to tell, but if I am looking at it correctly, your DD is attempting to create stretch similar to Kent's. The difference is she is trying to create that stretch by pushing her front arm back towards the catcher (arm bar), instead of using her core (among other things) to keep the hands in the same location while her pelvis moves towards the pitcher. This is very common with younger hitters. As a first step I would suggest teaching her to "walk away from the hands" without moving the hands with the arms.

No, I'll go view it now. On the above swing clips.

We'll have to agree to dis-agree.

What Eric said....from what I can make out, if your DD TTB she wouldn't have been out front of this pitched ball.
I see 'arm bar' on this swing and I don't think it's because of 'walking away from the hands'.

She hit that ball off her front foot. If you look at her hands , they stay in that same spot until she actually starts attacking the ball. No push . All whip . You know DLL. Not turn it and find it. That ball went about 250ft lcf. It's not arm bar. That's when you arm straightens before your body gets ahead . Come on you know better than that. Her body moved well forward before her arm straightened. Kinda looked like a Griffey launch . What didn't you like about her behind views?

Arm bar is when you push back first? Look at DD elbow . Bent. Way after her forward move. Thank you for your post . That's what I was eluding too.

I guess we have slightly different views on arm bar, which is fine. And honestly, if she is hitting the ball 250, I'm not sure I would mess with anything. We all have our ideal view of what the swing should be. While rdbass, EricF, and I agree with many aspects of the swing, the absolute most important thing is results. Hard to argue with 250...

Definitely. After all, there are no bonus runs awarded for swings that match MLB videos.

Arm bar - early lead arm extension . The early extension of the arm creates a long swing radius .With no torque in the mid section and a slow powerless swing.Lead arm extension should occur during the stride by hip /shoulder spatial separation.

Yeah and that is what your DD is doing. You just don't want to see it.
