Can you draw that red line stretch on Frank or the Vol hitter please. I don't see that stretch that Barry has.

Sorry, I can't. If you can't see (stretch) it in Frank & Vol hitter I doubt me drawing a red line is going to make it any clearer. Can you al least see them turning the barrel that's missing in your DD.

So Cal
Instead of trying to see the hip-hands stretch (which varies in how it's accomplished, and how dramatic it is), stand up and feel it. Feel the tension running from the rear hip up through the scap, as the scap gets pulled towards the spine. In a good swing, that tension is created dynamically as part of the sequence of movements that leads to launch. I find that understanding how things feel often help me understand what to look for on video.

Looking at your DD's cage swing clip, if there is scap tension being created, it appears that it's happening early, being held, and then she's pushing out of it. Delay the creation of scap tension, and it may help her get a little better hip-hands stretch happening.

Hey man . Hope all is good. Do you have a link or a drill that could help with that feel?

RD , the pitch she's hitting is low and inside. As you know it's hard to see barrel turn from that location. She tries to hit that pitch to LCF-CF. From her vertical barrel set it would be hard to see it. Heres DD from the back. TTB on a mid/low pitch and a H/away pitch. I think she turns it fine.

Pick up a bat, and feel it in your own body. That's the drill. Feel the tension/stretch created when your scap is pulling back in opposition to the hip turning forward.

Hey RD, did you ever take a look at the game clip?

No, I'll go view it now. On the above swing clips.
I think she turns it fine.
We'll have to agree to dis-agree.

What Eric said....from what I can make out, if your DD TTB she wouldn't have been out front of this pitched ball.
I see 'arm bar' on this swing and I don't think it's because of 'walking away from the hands'.

Pattar, Frank doesn't create any separation from his hips to his hands. He uses momentum and abduction to power his swing , his core doesn't even activate until late after his pelvis stretches after touch down. Totally different than Barry. As far as Frank having a beach ball . It wouldn't move either . Don't take this as argumentative. This is how people learn. Franks elbow stays the same distance away from his body until GO. Just like DD. Be it closer than Frank . But nonetheless the same distance away relative to their own body. Since RD said he couldn't help me see the stretch . Can you ? Thanks for your time .

I guess what I'm saying is there isn't any stretch there until the kinetic chain says there is .Until the legs tell the pelvis and the pelvis tells the core and the c...
You get the picture.

I see all these hitters creating stretch with there legs(abduction) then it just filters through via the kinetic chain. In DDs game clip. You will see her hands stay back a tad more . The core gets activated etc etc.

I appreciate the back and forth Pattar.

Are you not seeing FT's hands moving rearward (in relation to his body) as he moves forward? I see it most clearly by looking at the gap between his barrel and his helmet. It's not as dramatic a stretch as some hitters, but it's still there (drawing back the bow).
