So would that then be the "uncoil" part, and if so, what does the hitter do to make that resistance "disappear"?

Barrel passing through lag is roughly when the resistance vanishes (yes that is a techie term lol). I don't think of it as uncoil as that to me would indicate an intentional action, but I am not opposed to the idea.

I would like to hear someone breakdown coiling further. Do you guys refer to coiling and hand separation as the same thing or is hand separation just one part of coiling? I have heard others say to show the pitcher your numbers on the back of the jersey or show the pitcher the pockets on the back of your pants. Are those also parts of coiling. Trying to get some correct terminology down on coiling.

I like to show your rear leg/hip back pocket. Yes this is part of coiling.

Tried it. I like it. Flamingo-drill-plus. I'd fear for my meniscus demoing step 2 on a regular basis:)

Using this drill, I would include instruction about "riding the coil". I often see young hitters giving up the coil as soon as they start moving forward.

Feel it in leg/hip. See it in front foot: hover.

You may notice a little more accentuated coiling from baseball clips, because they'll have slightly more reaction time to fastpitch hitters. A 90-ish mph pitch at 60ft = in the neighborhood of 115 or so at 43-46ft. In a fraction of a second, there's such a small window of reaction time.
But is the swing speed that much different? Wouldn't you "launch" the swing at approximately the same point? From a FP perspective, wouldn't coiling earlier, but making go/launch occur at the same time as BB, negate the smaller reaction window?

Have any GIFs been made comparing the "decision" point b/w a BB and FP swing? (something similar to the Cabrera, et. al., "yes, yes, no" clips).
