Trying to describe what my DD1 needs to work on and Im struggling with it... she has no issues hitting inside pitches.. her problem is the outside pitch.. she keeps her hands inside (no casting) on swing but at extension her hands are in line with her feet (too far left and in front of her not in front and to right side) - on some hits this causes a slashing motion where bat is moving right to left instead of forward..
This of course causes outside of plate to lose coverage and robs her of power as well (hits on end of bat instead of sweat spot and lots of side spin on the ball)...
Question is if its a weak right hand or bad habit of pulling left hand with shoulder and keeping it inside...or something else
If someone hopefully understood what Im trying to describe Im looking at what drills to do to get the hands in front and slightly to the right of feet at contact point...
She was also using too light/short of a bat and just got a new one - I dont "think" it would be a too small of a bat but figure I would throw that out there in case thats what it is (I doubt it and we will know soon once we get to try Blinky out.. she named it after the Red Pacman ghost...)
