She's strong so mishits still make of. Maybe I'm over reacting. Playing asa nationals next week, so we'll see good competition.

Is she squaring the ball up consistently? You never actually said what the problem was besides the type of swing which was being preached to her.

Misses are typical grounders and pop up flares to right on misses. Would like to see more line drive ls. Hard hit balls to OF are usually high fly balls or he's.

Struggles with anything up.

If you are going to do something like that, and not saying you should, I would go with this instead:

Trying to force getting barrel depth like that, without worrying about the upstream stuff which gets you there, is probably not a good idea. People have
some issues with the above posted drill as well so use at your risk...

I actually don't think her initial move back with the barrel is that bad. However, I do think the swing (and with it the barrel path) might be improved if she built up more stretch/resistance in her upper body, e.g. more walking away from her hands and resisting of her lower body turn.

What are some of the problems people have with the continuous pinch drill?

Somebody on here (don't remember who) was complaining that Stone either wasn't ,or wasn't doing it correctly, describing the mechanism through which the hips turn. I like the drill
personally...

Stone shifts and swings in his demo. The very thing he says the drill prevents he does. He pushes.

His drill eliminates the hands from turning the barrel which IMO is a bad path to go down.

Yeah, his demo of the complete swing (3rd part of drill) left a lot to be desired. He kind of went through the motions it seems.
Why do you say you cannot turn the barrel with your hands when performing that drill?

Following his own advice produced the swing you see. So, why follow that advice?

He says that the rear elbow slots due to the lower half opening and the upper half resisting. In a good swing the rear elbow adducts because the hands/forearms are turning the barrel. He does not do that. He pushes. He has to because if you pinch the scap and don't use your hands you have no means to get the barrel to the ball unless you push.

Ok. So in the second phase if he instead attempted to turn the barrel with the hands and did a check swing would that be a better version in your opinion?

there are lots of instructional videos on YouTube. Find one or two you like and watch them with her. I would also suggest watching some college softball and finding some videos of players who's swings your DD would like to emulate and go from there.
