What are you guys doing to improve timing?

I see a lot of these suggestions on here, do you guys do any tracking of results.

For instance someone gets on here and says ' MY KID HAS BAT DRAG " Then I see 100 responses on what to do. I'm just wondering what it is that makes you say xyz will work? Do you have proven results from your experience? I know that a few of these suggestions are bogus and can not come with proven results!

As a hitting coach I would like to see if any of you have done any research or conducted a study!

I am in a 3 month long study with a group of 2 dozen kids and the all have the bat drag problem.

They are all 11 years old. They haves similar playing backgrounds. We ask that they keep the same training regiment. I want to keep everything the same so we can have an accurate study! So many variables to deal with!

The bat drag fixes, We will have a group of 6 performing one protocol ( drills -t work- live ) Another group of 6 performing another protocol ( drills t work -live )

We just started it and I will post the results. I will also post what protocol was used for each group!

This is a very neat site that looks to be filled with passionate coaches/instructors!

B-WIZE!

Use your hands kids. Problem solved. Again how do they use there hands. What can you do to promote that action, Do not assume that part of the protocol doesn't include use of the hands and forearms please!

Again some of the info is like that commercial with the security guard! No I'm a security monitor!

Reading that well written article and saying use your hands.... ummm that WONT DO IT PARTNER!

As a new poster to the board gotta kinda expect this response when you basically post (reading between the lines) the things I've seen on this board show you don't know what you are talking about but I'm doing a "study" to prove my way is right.

Two issues I have:

1. You don't actually state what your preferred solution is instead of trying to show your superiorty why not just chime in on the next thread talking about bat drag with "for a drill I would suggest trying X since this should help reduce bat drag" and this is why it should work.

2. I would hope that you are using two methods you think are effective in reducing bat drag and just trying to show one is mo better; because if you are using 11 yr old guinea pigs and ingraining bad habits into their swing just to prove a point I'm first in line to call B.S.

Problem is we don't know you and while you might be a great guy and great coach with great ideas your post come off a little heavy handed..."you don't have proven results"... plenty of folks on this board have kids playing DI or have coached kids playing college ball and have coached kids with "proven results" for years. Anyway I'm trying to say this in the nicest way possible...we are willing to listen and learn but maybe try a different approach.

B-NICE ;)

The swing starts when the front foot hits the ground.....You cant start the swing until the front foot hits the ground
Let's START here first with what's wrong(FOOLISH) with these statements first:
Really....silly...How about time the ball in the air...silly. Yeah, wait until the front foot hits the ground until you START or a hitter STARTS their swing. The swing better START before the front foot hits the ground. Prove me wrong. Please make me look silly.
Silly....you do know that's shift THEN swing(plus something else but, I'm not going to help you out)....you silly fool but, go ahead and prove me wrong.
And look I didn't post any gifs to back up what I'm saying. I'll leave that up to you to prove me wrong because you know how dumb I be.....
Added: I'm not you're BUDDY when you think you're going to insult me and think you're going to make me look FOOLISH by trying to embarrass me for apparently not being as smart as you think you are.
Added:is this, that, there bio-mechanics that you speak of that I don't be understanding or be processing.

All you need to do is post a few gifs showing some barrel turn with the front foot unweighted or in the air. You dont need to act a fool.

The first two here don't get it. The last one does get it. Hint ... it isn't necessarily the action in the 'leg' that needs to be mastered.

No. So, now you changed it 'barrel turn with the front foot unweighted or in the air'. You're the fool who thinks the swing doesn't start until
The swing starts when the front foot hits the ground.....You cant start the swing until the front foot hits the ground
You can keep guessing I'm not going to help you with your silliness.
Hint:Your approach is ground up which is a slowww swing starts from the ground up.
keep guessing.
