10U TB player, former power hitter now pounding grounders to the right side and driving balls with less power when line drives happen. To my untrained eye I see lunging forward, swinging down and not connecting out in front all as issues. Any help is appreciated:

Whenever my DD's power slumped I would buy her a new bat....is has to be the equipment, right?

LOL! We had a dad whose kid was a K machine. Probably 70% K rate. Kept buying new bats, but same result. Other parent on the team took his kid for lessons at same facility as his kid. Said he takes over the lesson from the instructor and is very helicopter parent.

Best line I ever saw here was something about a crappy swing with a $300 bat is still a crappy swing. I see so so so so many bad swings with newest model $300+ bats every weekend, just wonder how much the player would improve if they still used last year's model and used the $300 on a quality instructor.

A lot of good advice so far...and yes it's the Indian and not the arrow.

Upstream issues....Read the thread on DBSF for starters. Does drop bat but, swings down not flat. There are other sequence issue such as sways back, no coil but, not sure how much you want to hear. Better pitching will do that to former supposed 'power hitters'.
For comparison to a 'power hitters' barrel path:

I love the starting position of the hands, my favorite. Although not crazy about how high the hands are in the stance. The reason I love that starting position is to "load" (I hate calling it loading} then becomes down, back and up. The hands should load to shoulder height and not above. If you look at the Cabrera clip he starts with the hands forward and loads back and up to shoulder height.

The lead arm is to high and the bottom hand is turned to flat. I like the lead arm to start much lower like Cabrera.

Like Rdbass said she is swinging down. There is allot to like about the swing however. I think she could be a good hitter with some changes.

Also shifts THEN swings instead of shift AND swing. The swing shifts the weight from the rear to the middle. Don't want the swing to shift the weight from rear to front.

As others have said once the pitching gets better it will expose flaws in your swing. But just to play devils advocate a bit, do you have a video of an older swing when, in your opinion, she was hitting better?

Sure, here is a swing from the fall when she was consistently launching line drives to the gaps. I still see the bat dropping, but better swing plane perhaps; again I am in the early stages here myself, so just trying to digest the feedback (probably a month's worth in the DBSF threads alone).
