Comes down to the particular individual.
Give someone a goal, and sometimes their body moves appropriately to accomplish the given goal ..... then there are those whose body is not recruited in the same manner to accomplish the stated goal.
It takes a bit of work to help someone that recruits their body sub-optimally to accomplish a given goal. They need to learn a different movement pattern. Depending on their sense of body awareness that can be a cake walk, or a significant challenge.
So while "crank the forearms" may work for some ... it will not work for everybody.
Yea, it doesn't happen in one rep. It's a foreign move to anyone who isn't already doing it. So, you practice it. You don't give up and say it doesn't work. Some get it quicker than others. Some need knob to nose cue others don't. It takes time to build up the myelin sheath in the forearms so the snap becomes more natural.
