Not here.
I'm surprise no comment on the split grip......sad of what has become of DFP....

Maybe, because of this hitters use of the 'split grip', the swing looks more of a top hand dominated turning of the barrel. Again JMHO on both comments.

I'm not here to join the war and pick a side... I'm just saying that I am not seeing the hitters emulate what some of the instructors are teaching. If I show my DD a video of some of these instructors and what they are asking their students to do (I posted a video and time in the video of the instruction earlier in the thread), she will literally try to do that in her swing..

RDBass is right in what he is saying that Manny does turn the barrel .... but it does not seem all forearms and hands to me, it seems like the elbow folding under the pinched scap plays a big part in turning that barrel.

In the end I want to instruct my DD and give her the best advice, not join this pissing contest

You release the barrel at different times in the swing. Not bop the catcher in the head like FFS and Rdbass promote...

Inside pitch you rotate more before barrel release. You use the core to turn more before the release of the bat head. Look at how far bonds rotates towards the pitcher before barrel release. Please don't take the advise of bopping the catcher on the head (RIGHT NOW) like rdbass and FFS promote. That nonsense does not happen in a MLB swing

So Cal
Hmmm...As I sit here watching the Dodgers-Pirates games (a few good hitters on those teams), I'm seeing quite a few barrels getting turned rearward/downward. It's most apparent on takes.

EDIT: FWIW, FFS does indeed have hitting students. Past and current. Other than his DD. Being that FFS has rubbed me the wrong way in the past - more than a few times - it feels a little odd coming to his defense, but personal attacks only poison this forum. This is a place to share information and experiences. It's up to each of us to validate or invalidate the information presented.

You release the barrel at different times in the swing. Not bop the catcher in the head like FFS and Rdbass promote... They don't give instruction to hitters for feedback. Only their own daughters
FFS's daughter batted .086 her freshman year and got cut or quit after her freshman year.... Sad...Stick with proven information from instructors who have had success with given hitting instruction to multiple hitters...
Rdbass only works with his own daughter which is fine, but to dish out information like he is an expert with out working with any hitters for positive feedback is in my mind criminal. Why ruin other hitters without knowing what you and FFS dish out for information as something that actually works from real live date from hitters you work with.... I find it sad for parents.

All these years and you still don't know how to post a gif/video. NOTHING can be learned from a still picture......just saying that's SAD.

Now to straightleg's repeated attacks

Since you repeatedly and I do mean repeatedly attack me. I will responded.
Correct, I only work with my DD. Why, not give lesson....because I don't need the money.
Correct, my DD is going into her sophomore year of her DIII softball season.
I didn't know in order to respond on DFP hitting threads I needed to be a paid hitting instructor. Such as straightleg.

Straightleg, did/does you own DD play college softball DI,DII, or DIII?
Again, my DD plays DIII softball. My 'results' speak for themselves.

If I have ruined any DD's/DS's swing as a result of my postings please let me know on this thread.

One of straightleg's students that he has posted:
SL_Student_Tqracer53xyz.gif

Are you still teaching this crap. Where's this 'turning the barrel' you speak of.......

Here is the last swing I posted of my DD back in 2015:
jV_Dg5.gif

This is how I instructed my DD with 'turning the barrel forward towards the ball. We have since got he hitting more with her 'back and not her chest'.

Straightleg please leave me alone. If not.....I have a lot of time since I don't give hitting lesson and my DD is off to college and softball.:p

If anyone needs hitting lesson PM straightleg. He needs the money.

Let me be clear ... you are liar. But what the heck ... let's see you back up your claim. Where have I promoting the act of bopping the catcher in the head? Post a link. I'll wait patiently.

Oh my, my....
I didn't know in order to respond on DFP hitting threads I needed to be a paid hitting instructor. Such as straightleg.
...I didn't know that I had to post a resume to offer my thoughts, impressions, and opinion here, and I suppose I shouldn't be posting here either then...because I've never charged for a hitting lesson which apparently disqualifies me. Shoot, and I was having so much fun. :(

Well per straightleg:
Rdbass promote... They don't give instruction to hitters for feedback. Only their own daughters
I need to instruct hitters in order to get feed back on whether I know what I'm teaching is correct, I guess. I guess having a DD playing softball in college isn't good enough 'feedback'. Who knew.....
Maybe us Dads ,Moms & non-paid instructors should only post on the practical thread.....

He even managed to ruin Bustos swing.

Here's what I would instruct if I was to instruct:

Personally there are several people on here that I would be glad to have instruct my DD... And I think I know enough about their beliefs that resumes, videos, or other claims are not necessary for me. Just sayin...
