So I know it's not a common problem, most girls I see are either getting jammed or hitting most balls to opposite field or right back up the middle. My Daughter seems to be out in front of everything, change up on the outside corner and slower pitchers are a killer for her. I need a drill to enforce letting the ball get a little deeper on those outside pitches. Any thoughts?

Thanks

Tons of front toss and tee work :) As for slower pitching or change ups, I use what we call the change up drill. I think some guys call it the "command drill". It's just easier for my girls. We go out to launch, hold, then fire. Tee placement is very important! On an outside pitch I set the tee just inside the stride foot and work on hitting the gaps and that's whether we're working on regular cuts or working off speed. I know, I know, we should let the ball get deeper but that works for my DDs and we all love hitting gaps! One tip I will give you is never set the tee too far out front! Another drill for off speed is a simple bounce of the ball towards the strike zone. It can be tricky to gauge the speed and bounce but with a little practice it works (for some) just like any drill lol You might need a piece of plywood and tennis balls it all depends on what you're practicing on. Our tunnel has decent turf and a regular softball bounces just right. Good luck on your journey! And BTW before anyone else asks....Video works best if you have it.

I would try to get her familiar with hitting oppo .front toss from 1B line. batter in regular stance as if pitch was coming from mound. pitch is aimed at her rear hip. goal is to go oppo. a variation of this is to throw from between mound and 1B and throw all outside pitches.
go with whatever works best.

also experiment with timing. try Tewks's "halfway home" drill. in live or machine pitch BP, don't start to swing until the pitch is halfway to the plate.
