sorry, I don't know how to make this slo-mo.
this was from a game the other day and is not necessarily typical, but was the swing that I caught when I thought to whip out my phone. not a good day at bat.

I see some DBSF, but not entirely. looks like she gets too low, stays in bat-lag a little too long and reaches extension late, so that she doesn't achieve maximum batspeed at contact.
what say you?

Biggest thing I see is she never really has a reach back component watch her hands like you mentioned they come down not really back.

Also she dips way down to try and get that flat swing at first I thought it was going to be a low pitch from her approach but it was belt high and she still got low and swung up.

For me the biggest tell is always foot plant look at how she has already started, slotted elbow and moving hands, she should be at her farthest reach back point.

A couple stills for comparison look how aggressive they look and at what point in the swing they are at.

It is funny you mention foot plant position because I have been trying to get my DD into a similar position to the swings posted. When I tell her to get to foot plant and stop, e.g. she knows she isn't going to be hitting anything, she looks pretty good. However if I just have her to swing away, even off the tee, her hands are already moving forward at foot plant.

if you are into forward by coiling or bb/a$$ - I'm not seeing it. when she picks foot up, should add more to that which she presets

fly ball to right, can o' corn rather than a line drive.

thanks for the excellent feedback!
unfortunately, she always looks good hitting off a tee or soft toss, but actual plate appearances bring out the flaws.

Not here.
I see some DBSF
Over all not a bad swing. I might try just getting your DD to hold the bat/barrel vertical. Keep it vertical and then goooo.

I agree. Seems to be more of a sway back then a FBC. Just look at the belt line/waist.

Leaving a little more power at the plate.

I like her rythm. She starts the hands in my favorite position.

You know what I think would be interesting with this hitter? I think an open stance would interesting. Why?

You can shift back a little back without it being what is commonly thought as a swaying action. I don't think this is a real swaying issue.

Not all hitters FBC, they might all coil, but not FBC. That said I think opening the hips/stance which creates more FBC might look/work really well with this hitter. Leave everything else the same.Same rythm, hand position in stance.
