The net behind is a constraint drill. It should force the hitter to start the barrel early (swivel vs hammer) and create a deeper more diagonal barrel path instead of the out front path flat path she has now (which would destroy the net).

You don't have to miss the net completely - just brush the net with the tip the of the barrel somewhere over her head.

Someone already mentioned this, but there needs to be separation (delay) between the rotation of the hips and the start of the hands. She is not building torque. It is only a split second of a delay, but the power you get form this separation is huge.

Have her start her normal swing, but stand behind her and hold the top of the bat (don't let go). Let her feel the pull she can get from her bottom half. She needs this to hit the ball far.

The 2nd thing I notice is the top hand rolling over. She probably does this to try and make up for the power loss in her bottom half. The result will be hard hit balls straight down. My 2nd DD used to do this. She pushed with her top hand instead of letting it come through. The only way I figured out how to correct her was to have her release the top hand right after contact. She immediately got elevation on the ball. After a month of net practice I had her go back to holding on to the bat through her whole swing and the bat roll problem was gone.

Sorry, I want to make sure we are doing the drill correctly. SHould the bat brush the net at the beginning or the end of her swing? Or both?
