Interesting. I have thought about the differences, such as Cabrera. The lead arm for instance is a little different.

What are your thoughts on the subject?

Pitch location has a lot to do with the lead arm. Cabrera wasn't belt high.

Back on the dirt...
Personally, Im still undecided. But i know I can swing both ways. Somedays I do well one way vs the other. I never knew which is right prior to and this helped me realize that there could be 2 different ways that are okay mechanically. Its kinda like when a pitcher has 4 pitches but only 2 are working. Im sure there is a better way to describe it but thats what I have for now. I can def hit harder when I am top hand dominate. Still working on it.

As for the blog, do realize there are 8-9 chapters, you have to follow the red boxes on the bottom to change pages and believe its backwards due to it being translated.

Reading it right now. I stopped to post I don't believe there are many like Cabrera. Cabrera almost seems to get the hands ahead of rotation. The hands are almost pinned to the shoulder with the lead arm maintaining an flexion angle. The picture of Hank or clip, he didn't create that same swing every time. I have over 100 swings of Hank. That swing almost looks like to much bat lag or even a little drag. He does do it that way in some of his swings, but I don't think the one shown is his best.

I disagree that everyone is a pusher now, like I said Cabrera is someone I think is a little different. Everyone else, almost everyone has more lead arm extension, meaning the lead arm is stretched straighter while creating bat lag. Cabrera almost appears to create less bat lag (bat lag meaning separation) early in the swing, hands don't seem to get to far away from the body.

(1) Do you mean using one arm dominantly?

No, in two senses. First, arm action should be unconscious and automatic in both mechanics. Experiments in chapter1 should teach you it, I mean, puncher type requires just an explosive power production, and swinger type requires to swing your arms passively by using the body rotation and weight transfer. Intending to use either one arm dominantly is definitely wrong in both types. Second, "puncher=rear arm, swinger=front arm" is just about within the zone between "launch position" and "contact point". Both mechanics use another arm in their follow-through, and I will write on it later in this series of posts. Anyway, both arms are equally important in both types of mechanics.

Like it says, both arms/hands are important.
