If you learn to use your core - the barrel will blur behind you. But, I don't discount that you may have to correct a barrel path flaw to have a chance. Meaning if you have a player flattening before swinging - you need to work on getting the barrel path corrected or at least stop the flattening madness. Keep the barrel vertical, use a tip if you'd like and train the core pull the barrel into the proper path. Yup, easier said than done but then everyone would be swinging it like an all star. Get the belt loops pulling the barrel into its swing arc

OK - I'll bite. I only saw the initial ~minute-long video - why the strong reactions?

I do recall someone posting (here?, BF101?, BDD?) the technicalities as to why bat blur in a video does _not_ equal an increased bat speed - but don't remember if that was ever accepted as "gospel truth" or not.

However, I will say that in my own limited experience (past 12 months), adding the tipping motion into my swing has enabled me to pull the ball more frequently. Don't know if the tip is causing the increase in bat speed, or maybe it's improved my overall timing and I'm just starting earlier - like I said - it's a limited sample size.

So is the snake oil reference to the product I think he's selling (an upside-down tee, but it wasn't shown in the video), or is it in reference to the movement shown?

Gags, I've been coaching "tip and rip" since my daughter was 12. He didn't create that. The first gentleman that I know talked about "tip and rip" was BBscout, otherwise known as DMac. Gags, for me there are levels of hatred toward people that are unhealthy. Let me describe my level of hatred toward the guy in that video with a line from a Phil Collins song. "If you told me you were drowning, I would not lend a hand." That probably makes a statement as much as if I were to post my real thoughts.

If you would read some of his comments on Twitter you would understand why he is disliked by many. Last night I was reading his posts to Alex Hugo about how her swing sucks and she will never make at this year. Alex has been working with Baseball Rebellion which is apparently an enemy of Teacherman.

So Cal

As I understand it, the person in the video put on a clinic at 9-Zone. He is not a part of that organization. However, 9-Zone does pimp him awfully hard.

Snake oil salesman

Agreed.

Have you ever heard of conditioned reflex? If so, I instantly lost it when I clicked on the feed. I'll calm down some eventually. LOL

LMAO. Breathe...breathe... Easy, man.

I didn't realize he was on twitter... Interesting...

I'm following him purely for the amusement of it. My favorite is when his demonstration actions contradict his words.

I watched that conversation unfold yesterday. It was fantastic. My respect for AH grew some more, and my opinion of TM remained exactly where it already was. I'm pulling for her to have a tremendous year.

He's not selling the product. He's talking about his beliefs about swing launch mechanics.

I'm considering the same thing. I have been spending more time on twitter lately. I'm becoming more of a fan of that media type.
