For my DD the elbow is not slotted. DD's swing 'slots' the elbow. Your DD's elbow may not be 'slotted' by her swing.

Thanks. I didn't think the command drill would start from elbow slot, but was responding DRDRODD's conjecture that the command drill would begin at the place where the GIF in the original post was ending. Which is post-slot.

I'm kinda stuck at the whole issue of barrel-flattening. My DD does it prematurely and excessively. But, to adjust to pitch height, there might be some barrel flattening necessary.

So does the command drill begin (''go'') at the point at which that any slight barrel flattening has occurred? In the GIF in the original post, there appears to be a very slight barrel flattening before the barrel is launched rearward. Is that fair to say? And it is after this slight flattening that ''go'' occurs?

Not here.
Just to be clear this is the gif we are discussing:

there appears to be a very slight barrel flattening before the barrel is launched rearward.
I don't see it as 'flattening before barrel is launched rearward'.
I see the bodies COM lower as the barrel is turned forward.
It would really help with a frame count because there is loading/direction/launching ect all in this gif.

In my opinion, eliminate the "excessively" part of it. If you eliminate too much of it, her swing could very easily develop into one controlled by shoulder rotation instead of creating barrel whip. Very interesting discussion....

Instead of 'flatten'...How about getting the barrel into position to launch/release the barrel.

You see? He hadn't "WHIPPED" anything at that point. But based on the read of the pitch, his hands knew instinctively how to get the body into position to best address each pitch. Do you see how he gets his hands above the ball in the one VS getting the handle down to the other

That would mean you start the command drill w/ the elbow essentially slotted, right? That's where the batter is at the end of the gif.

Also, this is not the point at which the hitter is fully stretched. So yeah, I'm confused. :)

I was referencing the Bonds clip not Correa.

For some reason my laptop didn't show the Correa clip so I thought we were discussing the Bonds clip RD posted about float

I look at this clip, and I can't help but think "take the knob to the ball" - LOL. Unfortunately, that clue often gets used with demonstration/instruction of pulling the hands across the chest, which is not a correct movement.

Another thing I see is a cue that I first heard from redhotcoach..."rear shoulder delivers the hands"
