She is very vertical like a golf swing instead of getting her torso to tilt.

This is why I asked if there was a view from the front on front toss. I think we would easily see that she is very vertical. If you can get her to tilt to the degree that the pitch height warrants, this will allow if not foster the better bat path that RDB describes. Something like this tilt toward the plate from the front---> ( _

^^Well, sort of, heh heh. I'm sure that if she is a slapper she has dealt with enough low-and-aways to be familiar with the tilt I am speaking of. Just ask her to add it to her swing away. There are some good things going on with her, so I would start with this minor adjustment and then see if the bat path still needs work.

One other thing that won't necessarily make her swing better, but will make her a better hitter is to completely reverse her vision path from beginning to end. Instead of setting up staring at the ball and then finishing with a head pull to CF, have her start with both eyes focused on an imaginary pitcher and then track to the ball-on-tee, finding the ball at/just before contact and then leaving her head/eyes there as she finishes the swing.

I'm the Dad of a switched hitter as well. Mine caught on to slapping quickly at 11yo, but has been a traditional swing away hitter for many years since.

Good luck and keep it up!

She *looks* good on the surface through the first half of her swing but then her engine dies -- or better put, she hasn't installed an engine -- and so she finishes with just her arms. Given her age, and the challenge of turning around, she's doing great! The advice you've received here is very good too, there's a lot of instruction all over DFP about installing a stretch and fire swing engine, I'd focus on that and give her a looooong time frame to build that into a full swing. In the mean time, really work on bunting, soft-slapping, directional slapping and then at some point explain how stretch and fire works within both her full swing AND a power slap:

One thing noticed was her head movement. She moves it back over her back foot, the head should remain more over the front hip in an attack posture. The head is also moving forward during the swing.

I agree with much that was written. The load and center is soft, not really coiling.

more to follow

Check out the differences in head movement and the negative move. Josh's head remains over the front hip and he has an "attack posture", meaning if we draw a line from his ear to his belt buckle (center) the line would be tilted forward (\). Your daughter has a line going the other way /. She is tilted backwards. She is shifting backwards to much. You don't want a tilt back until the hips start.

So Cal
The thing that jumps out at me most - along the lines of RichK's comment - is her very athletic and powerful loading/gathering move gets nearly completely deflated by the time the stride lands, and all that's left to power the swing is the arms. I would like to see her lower body energy continue throughout the entire swing.

I also agree with Shawn's comments.
