I would love any feedback on my DD's swing. She has worked hard trying to improve it and we've been to 2 different reputable hitting coaches over the past year (both of which have helped tremendously). I'm just an amateur mom, so would appreciate any input on what she needs to correct. Thank you!

I can't get back until tomorrow if you don't have tons of help by the morning I'll chime in....she has what we would describe as a back and forth swing. Hopefully did not spend to much on hitting lessons a good instructor should have her doing much better in a couple months at least with the basics

I would strongly suggest looking at some of the old hitting threads that discuss sequence.

Ok, sorry about that but yes - all back all forward. No seperation of walking the body away from the hands. The hands actually never get back and though I'm not an expert I think that may be why the hands are rolling at contact (does she hit a lot of ground balls to ss?).

The bug comment was about weight transfer. She is twisting off the back foot and losing power from her legs, we want her to DRIVE forward.

All that being said make sure you don't overwhelm her with changes. Keep hitting fun and focus on one thing at a time. Good luck!

What is being referred to as "hands are rolling at contact" is not an issue.

Thank you so much for feedback. Could someone please point me to a specific thread that would break down sequence? I'm having a hard time pinpointing one. Also, I don't quite understand what Seattlecoach means by "separation of walking the body away from the hands." Would you mind explaining in more detail? :) Thanks again!

Here is a thread that you might find helpful in your quest to understand more about "walking the body away from the hands." I hope this helps!

I have also found this thread about Megan to be extremely useful.

How have these hitting coaches helped? What did they change in the swing?

Agree with djcarter. Not saying it's a bad swing, but it would be a whole lot better if she had really been working regularly with a good hitting coach. I live in NC, and I don't think there are that many reputable hitting coaches here, at least not on my side of the state. But I do know of some I might refer if interested. (And it's not me, btw.)
