If you come across a link to that video then I would appreciate you posting it.

If you can, thanks. I am always interested in hearing ways to describe different mechanics. I think staying out top is hugely important, and often use the concept that while the lower body and tilt tends to "suck the barrel under" the hands should work to stay on top. But that's different than swinging down. I look forward to your thoughts.

Announcers inferred that it is a new strategy to Oklahoma brought with the hiring of JT Gasso (last fall) as assistant coach. Some things I recall them saying were that he doesn't get into technical aspects, he says swing hard everytime vs trying to make contact, ground balls give an overall better chance of getting on base vs balls in the air.

I wasn't rolling my eyes.

Two teams with different approaches.

One team swinging for the fences. The other team attacking from the top.

They are definitely attacking from the top but by no means are they swinging down. Totally agree with you FFS.........

The announcer did not say attacking from the top...she said "swing down mentality"

I don't consider them to be the same thing.

Hopefully someone can get some video of OU and you can illustrate your point...CP

For me, swing down is a swing in which one is attacking from the top. On the other hand, one can attack from the top, and depending on one's usage of the phrase, not be swinging down.
