Nice swing, hate the stupid slamming of the bat into the ground after hitting a HR

If it was done in front of the other team's dugout, as a taunt, I would have a problem with it. In front of her own dugout, it was a way to fire up her team. In this case, I have zeros issues with Show's tomahawk-chop bat flip.

Keep it classy, the HR itself was enough to fire her team up.. yes it would of been worse if she whipped it towards the other team. If my DD did that I would not be happy... and would be a little embarrassed.

This was the tie-breaking - game winning!!! - bomb that beat heavily-favored Florida in the WCWS. She had the only two hits of the game off Barnhill - both HRs. She also pitched a complete game for the win. You'd be embarrassed if your DD did that, in that situation? Really?? Not me. I'd be screaming my head off with excitement.

Yes, without a doubt. I would be very proud of her and what she accomplished, but that kind of behaviour just puts a blemish on the whole thing. Knock it out of the park, trot around the bases.. the hit itself is a enough of a statement.

Get off my lawn!! j/k ;) Look I am sort of old school too but I do know if I was pitching and gave up a HR and was mad that a player showed me up my old man would have told me to pitch better...Of course me being a hothead, that would have happened after I threw my glove at the runner as he rounded the bases..but still.

My DD and I were watching this game.. actually can't be sure if this was the exact game but we saw her doing this after a HR. My daughter thought it was dumb and poor sportsmanship.. and I'm glad she did

Also she always does this after a home run, it's not like she was just caught up in the moment of this intense game

We definitely have a different opinion on this. In that specific situation, I think her bat flip was just fine. I don't see a "blemish", I see exuberant celebration, and a gigantic "LET'S GO!!!!!" to her team. If this was at the tail end of a mid-season game where they were way up or way down, I would have a different attitude. The moment makes ALL the difference.

My DD and I were watching this game, too. We both thought it was awesome.

EDIT: Her bat flips are usually much less animated. This one fit the moment just fine (IMO, YMMV).

To each his own...Nothing better than a big time moment handled with class and respect, much better ways to express your self than this.. JMHO.

I don't see anything un-classy about celebrating an awesome moment with an appropriate level of enthusiasm for that moment. She was not mocking or taunting the other team. That would have been un-classy and disrespectful.
