I didn't think about the girls in the background when I posted. Her Dad is local HS coach and probably wouldn't want it posted. Not sure how to remove the gif

Her head travels along way from start to finish in that swing.

It could work at lower levels, she might struggle as the pitching gets better

Tee being out front more than I would like to see. I think your DD has a nice swing. Only suggestion I would make would be the dropping of the barrel behind your DD shoulders during the swing. 'Turn the barrel to the ball' not 'drop' then 'turn the barrel to the ball'. JMHO
Keep up the good work.
I hope someone 'helps' the DD hitter behind your DD.
Added: Think about the rear leg is 'in charge' of the front leg stride/reach out.

I believe some of what SL is talking about is due to the aggressive use of the front leg. However, overall I think she has a very nice swing for her age. She would definitely be a star in our local 10u league.

Thanks for the advice guys

RD - would you care to slow down the gif? I see the barrel dropping, she has made a lot of progress on that. She was really flattening and swinging level to the pitch.

Sorry, I can't 'slow down the gif' because it is a cheap free gif maker. Save to quick time on your computer and you can go frame by frame.
As far as the 'barrel dropping' then 'turning the barrel to the ball'. I would practice this drill.

Have your DD load, using her load style. As your DD is loading 'back' say 'go' and make sure she 'turns the barrel to the ball' without the barrel dropping then the 'turning of the barrel'.
All in all a good swing for her age.

Looks like a really good foundation to build a high level swing from a 10 year old.
If it was my kid, I would only ask her to engage her back muscles a bit more in pullbacks, try to get more SnF. Sometimes neck slotting the bat helps girls to feel that better. Anyway, that's where I would start. nice job with her!

coachbob,
JMHO this hitter is 'beyond' the 'neck slotting'. This hitter is using her hands to 'turn the barrel' just not directly to the ball at this point. I would leave the bat in your DD hands. It's just a matter of removing the 'delay' at 'go'. This 'delay' will cause a problem as your DD progresses.
Again JMHO.

RS, your DD is WELL advanced. Put no guardrails on her whatsoever. Don't over coach her and NEVER take that aggression away from her. Replace the tee and pitch to her as much as you can.

She has one heck of a swing for a 10yo. Great Job!

I was not suggesting she isn't turning the barrel, and I certainly was not suggesting neck slotting as anything other than a "feel" drill. Nor am I suggesting this swing is anything other than remarkable swing for a 10 year old. As is the custom in this forum, I was just giving my opinion as to what minuscule flaw I see in the clip, based on the mechanics that I believe work for me and my kids, and stand up to video. I felt that the pullback in the scap area was stopping instead of continuing backwards, and felt a little shift then swing. That's what I would work on, and did provide that caveat with my post. Since there was no text provided with the swing, I used the default protocol in providing some user feedback.
