just started workouts 3 days a week. I talked to her briefly tongiht about what yu guys have said and one of the HS coaches mentioned something similar according to her. We have some time so I think we can address posture. Tryouts are in 9 weeks I think? I think we can do some tinkering?

Thanks for all the help

this yeasr varsity and JV teams will be pretty sound clubs. No super stars but a lot of kids who understand the game and want to get better. FOr the first time the coach is going to have to cut Juniors becasue he has freshman like my dd. I don't think he would keep a junior on JV, not as much upside as keeping younger kids.

Still would love something we could look at frame by frame but two things jump out at you immediately. One, she is an excellent athlete. Two, she stands straight up and adjusts for pitch height with her arms. What do you see comparing your DD to the first eight clips here? Analysis

My kid has no tilt what so ever. I was on Englishbey....so I am guessing the cable drill would be a great place to start to get her to see and feel the difference?

OK I was picturing tryouts in the next week or two. Yeah, go to work on posture. Have her stroke something at the top of the zone. Then show her how she can use that same swing for lower pitches as in the clips I linked by tilting over. Let's see what her connection looks like on something at the top of the zone and work from there on that.

Yes it would. Contstraints are a big deal. Englishbey has a bunch of them. Hitter describes having a bunch of them. Things that force positions and or communicate "feel" of a position can be very helpful in training.

OK starting working briefly on posture. Will get some video up asap. Things I still notice and think I need help in saying it better??? In looking at the elite hitters their front arm is not straight during their swing. I am telling her to just tilt and turn into the ball with her hips letting her hands/arms being connected to her body. Ias this correct wording or do you guys know a better way to describe. thanks again for hte help!

Depends on what wording works for her. Let her look at the video of elite hitters vs her video and come up with wording and cues that work for you but yeah, you are on the right track. Nothing in the above precludes striding into heel plant or not as works best for her in training.

Yes we are also starting on front big toe and then plant heel and turn into the ball. If I had my way I think I would get rid of the stride. Although she doesn't really stride out. It's closier to a up and back down thing.
