I would say what the chart shows, is that the bat continues to build speed right to contact.

But, do you have a source for this chart?

Very good. Now answer the question: High level or amateur ?

Question: High level or amateur?

Even without knowing who the hitter is, you will be able to classify.
Hint: Look at the sequence of red dots that correspond to the bat's tip. Each dot represents a point in time. The graphic tells where the maximal acceleration resides and gets created.

Why is this important under this topic of "turning the barrel"?

This is an "out front" swing. A high-level barrel turn behind the corner is going to show much earlier bat speed. I'd say this graph shows a pushing pattern.

In answer to the question: Amateur

I'm intrigued by everything here. First, he's using a sort of glide-stride. For some reason that has always caught my attention, as I think it's an easy way to coil the hips around that back hip socket. Further, I like everything about his turning of the barrel and getting on the path of the pitch behind the point of contact. However, I maintain that a baseball hitter needs to swing with a greater upward trajectory than a fastpitch softball girl would. That is, for the height of the pitch in this clip, the softball would be flatter than this baseball came in.

Who is this guy?

I believe to you this would be amateur because of the lack of early bat speed.
And right there I believe you have entered the black or white zone.

I understand you are after the perfect high level swing.

But, hitting is much more than that.

Sometimes hitting is not the home run derby, and there will be a lack of early bat speed, a more controlled swing, Where the hitter will be connected longer, a more direct and snap swing.
Sometimes, on the inside pitches, you are connected longer, resulting in a later snap.

Hitting is a SKILL SET, and it takes many forms, for the many situations.

Explore the gray areas, you will feel better.

With all due respects, your concepts of adjustability are correct.

But I would like to impress upon you, is that there are no "grey" zones in the milliseconds accomplished in high level mechanics. A highly specific sets of alignments and forces get integrated, and there can be no compromise in that assembly for the release. His adjustability comes in the form of instantaneousness.

This is an area, whether early bat speed, , Which I agree you must not lollygag. but slot is slot and I do not think that in the first part of the swing the wrists have begun torqueing the barrel, ESPECIALLY ON inside pitches, but yea, more so (earlier torque) on OUTSIDE pitches.

you can break down video, look at Cabrera, I do not see A full smooth increase through swing, as much as I see a great increase after slot, and into lag.
