Posted my 10 yr DD a week ago and received some great advice. We worked on turning the barrel this week, as she was casting before. I think we have improved on turning the barrel, still has a ways to go. I think she needs to hold the hands a split second longer and let the ball get about 1 foot deeper.

Comments please!

She should try to use her upper body more, a lot more. Look at the model swing thread. See how the shoulders, rear elbow, and barrel all move before the swing And then seamlessly transition into the swing in one motion. I don't think turning the barrel or creating bat whip will be possible until you can accomplish these other things.

Not here.
I watched both videos. Have you always practice hitting where the videos have been shot? Reason I ask is because the lack of over head room and seems there may be something in front of your DD that she is afraid to hit with the ball? I get the 'feeling' that is the reason your DD holds back on her swing. It looks like her swing is made to 'fit' the room. I understand the limited space issues but, I 'feel' because of this it has effected your DD's swing. I could be totally wrong on this and it won't be the first time.

I see her sitting down, like a squat. If you pushed on her chest from the front, I believe she would fall over backwards. She is not balanced.
Bend at waist soften knees. Or try sticking your butt out and soften the knees. You want the head more out over the toes.

The other thing is i would have more of is a vertical bat. Angle should be across the pony tail hole of a helmet.

I just want to say that I do see the improvement. There's a lot to work on and you're going to keep getting a lot of advice here. I think people need to hear the good too! Keep up the hard work.

Thanks Fellas,

We appreciate all the advice. We probably do have a space issue. There is room for her to take a full swing but not much more than that. Unfortunatly we have over 2 feet of snow outside right now (blaaaaaaahhhhh). Can't wait to get outside in the cage! We will work on making the stance more athletic. She is a very methodical person sometimes its hard to break her out of her thought process and have her just swing for fun. When she does, her swing is much better. When the camera is on she tends to become very sequential again trying to do everything right which detracts from her swing. She is a strong athletic girl, 5'1", 85 lbs and can run Home to Home in 12.7 sec. She just hasn't quite figured out how to just let it happen yet.
