Last year DD had great form hitting off the tee but in a game she looked terrible. DW took pictures and we could see she was kind of lunging below the waist (bent front knee) and straight up and down at the waist or leaning over the plate (not tilting at the waist).

This winter she looks good on the Tee again but I'm working on front toss with her- pitching from behind a screen or front-tossing TCBs. So far so good but we have a ways to go.

Anyone who wants to pitch to their kid and doesn't have a lot of room and/or isn't the best pitcher, I highly recommend getting a dozen TCB s (Total Control Balls) in the baseball size. They are a little pricey but they are great! I don't remember when I got mine but I've only lost one and that was at an indoor practice when ( I believe) a players little sibling decided to bring one home. These are great for warmups before games and tournaments. some kids love them and some kids hate them because they won't go far when they hit them. They dont recommend throwing them fast, but I have thrown fast toss to simulate fast pitching and haven't had any problems with U14 - U18.

I second the TCB's. That being said, many people say for every swing/pitch/etc. that is done wrong, it takes 10 correct ones to erase it. I don't know if this is right or not, but I can tell you from experience that it certainly seems that way:D

I don't know if this will help or not. When I was trying to learn how to throw to my dd, I threw in to the side of the net and practiced letting my hand get past my hip and then, I tried to hit my opposite (left) chest area. I could start a ball at 12 o'clock and do this and put some good stuff on the ball. At first, I worried about spin. When I stopped doing that and just chucked the ball, it was good. I do have to mention that I had a softball pitching screen available and that is important.

This is critical. Last time I threw front toss to my DD, I only heard some of the balls she hit and started thinking it might be wise to wear a helmet even behind the pitching screen.
