The last thread was getting so large, it seemed like some good information was getting buried.... so here is Part 2. Also included at no extra charge is MTS's request for some WHO.

Great job! Think of how much you have learned, and how well Olivia has applied it! Huge progress in just a month, if that! I can't wait to see her in action! These will be a couple of threads that people will refer to for years! Wow this stuff excites me!

WoW....what an improvement, she had a really good base to begin with but needed to work out a few things, I can tell she is a great student or has a great teacher maybe both;). I actually could not remember which girl she was but before I went back I thought to myself she has really good hands and arm positioning and takes a good path to the ball, then low and behold it was the girl that I had commented she was extending her front arm to soon and had a little bat drag from dropping hands to soon.

I'll let others nit pick and maybe throw in a small thought later but if she can transfer this swing to the field against live pitching, it is to the point where I would not make too many drastic changes.

gotta love the music choice!!

I really like her use of the hands. Could they be better? Of course. But she really has a sense of them according to this clip.

I have a tendency to memorize certain little intracacies of clips....strange probably,,,but what really catches my eye is how similar her hands move compared to Mauer's.

I realize these guys do this for a living...blah, blah, blah,

However, take a look at how the top hand (in particular) moves / works under.. O is very similar. Nice!

Thank you Lclifton. I do see the similar top hand usage. However I see the stretch process as quite different.

Would you say sir that the difference causes what is seen in the clip between 38 to around 41 seconds. ?

OR....

Would you say it has to do with when the "hands" move----Causing a bit (albeit very close to being "right or better") of all back all forward?

(Although I do think the two questions are related / overlapping in nature, if you will)

Or...

Would you say that the active front leg has a contribution to the differences.?

I really think you have something to contribute. Why? Because you ask the right things sir.

Top hand usage is good.

As I observe the first swing from the young lady I see the lower back initially pull back and then maintain a pressure as the COM moves forward. The pro on the other hand continues to apply a pulling back pressure with his rear lower back. He is in a sense coiling his body as he moves forward. He is applying a pressure of moving back while he moves forward. His stretch is distinctly more advanced.
