Just a comment that I think fits into the advice you have received: A majority of her power is coming from the front side pushing backwards. It would be more efficient to have a majority of power coming from the rear side going forward.

You can see it better in this clip - her knee cap is pointed almost to the catcher as the upper body turns back....

Then she flattens and swings the barrel....I would play around with tipping the barrel a bit towards the second basemen when her front shoulder moves down and in. This will force her to turn the barrel....

There is so much to like here but that front foot is a major concern to me. It is fully closed at contact. She rips her hips hard and that front knee is taking the brunt of the hip turn, not allowing her hips to finish and putting a ton of force on that knee. Don't worry about barrel turn right now. Fix that front foot before she hurts her knee.

If you look closely she appears to be putting her front leg down exactly like it is positioned in her stance. Try having her start her stance with her foot in the correct position. So in her stance her toe should be at the angle you want to see it at toe touch after the stride. If she does what she is doing now picking up her leg and striding with her leg staying in the same position this should fix the problem....good luck

Thanks everyone for the comments. For the record I teach push off the bug. Watching that gif of bug squishing is driving me crazy and I'm sure she will not like it either which is good.
Can anyone tell me how to save a video and play all frames? 60fps I can only do it if I open in quicktime but cant save it that way.

Upper rear leg hip coiled. Rear leg drives the coil forward.

rear leg turned out, opposite of coiled. rear leg starts driving forward...front leg slams on the brakes and pushes...rear foot does a burn out.

Well - it looks like she is pushing and as Booth will point out - the rear leg will ER from the pushing action....but that is not what you want the rear leg to do.....unless you favor Yeager mechanics....push / block / stall / spin /

STV, let me just say that I don't think she is far off from figuring out a more efficient way to get the barrel to the ball....just needs to address a couple of things....

The only other thing I see is that the front arm straightens out a little sooner than I like to see. I'd want to see her keep her lead elbow bent a little longer to start the swing. We all have our 'pet peaves' and that is one of mine!! :D Besides what has been mentioned already, looking pretty good. If you get a chance, would like to see from straight in front or behind as well. Keep up the good work!!

Thanks again everyone. Maybe I can get some more video of her tonight after she gets home from a away basketball game, eats, does home work, showers gets ready for tomorrow etc.... :) Not
But I will post again when we get her more dialed in.

I hear ya! Someone was excited about hearing the stories of my dd's winter work. I was like "well....there is about an hour a week that she dosen't already have something going on." This is last week of jr high basketball, so hopefully we can kick it up a notch.
