"Watch the slowed down frames....as she starts to swing she drops her hands to get level with the pitch....her thought should be to work the barrel down to and up through the ball....here she is dropping her hands to try and work up to the ball.....and if she is dropping her hands - she is turning the barrel into the ball late...."

Thanks for slowing things down,,, good information! does throwing the knob/hands towards the ball solve this?

Throwing the hands at the ball is a bad cue. That's part of her problem. Pro hitters constantly tell themselves to keep the hands back. Yes, the hands do go toward the ball, but the feeling should be of keeping them back and throwing the barrel at the ball.

The hands get taken toward the ball due to rotational forces of the body and the bat. You shouldn't pull or push the hands at the ball.

She directs her hands down at low pitches, and pops them up. The hands should stay UP.

Compare her hand and barrel path to Posey's

You should think of your hands as the guide for the barrel....if your hands drop to pitch height you will be guiding the barrel below the ball....

Your hands should not be thrown at anything - instead you should be throwing the barrel at the ball using your hands and wrists...

Good cues are hands stay above the ball and throw the BARREL at the ball....

Practically speaking: Imagine this swing if the hands didn't drop - there is a point where the back leg starts driving (watch the back knee move forward) but the hands have already dropped too much....if the hands stayed up and were working to turn the barrel the back leg would catch the hands and pull them forward....
