Any suggestions would be appreciated. 15YO, just wants to get better.

The first thing I notice is that she has a wide stance which in and of itself is not terrible but there is no stride which again is not terrible if there was some kind of pinch, coil, load whatever you want to call it but there is not.

Basically she is starting from a position that is back and going forward or in this case simply rotating in a bug squishing type motion.

Maybe you start the video too late and she starts in a different position but looking at her stance, weight distribution and sequence I don't think so.

I can't pinpoint exactly what is going on with her hands they seem OK but something just looks off it might be because the hands start at the farthest point back and never move until they go forward there is no elbow initiation, tilt, walk away from hands just all the things you usually see in a swing.

I might be way off base and usually don't comment too much in technical thread maybe a real expert like fiveframe can chime in with something better.

The sequence needs adjusting. Think when the hips move forward the hands should go back.
Just like in throwing.
Her hips and hands start at the same time and little by little the upper body travels past the lower body. Turns it into more of a upper body swing.
Very common thing

The goal is to get the bottom half working under the top and first. When the back hip fires the hands should still be behind the back hip.

I agree with SL ^^^^

Also. I was watching the full speed video of her on your site, maybe post on here. On it you can see a lot of her energy bleeds out the back of her foot. Get that energy going into the ball, not just spinning on the ground. Think about some of that power coming from the rear leg, rear side, and back, not just hips and torso rotating as fast as possible.

Crankermo's dd is about the same age...she uses her rear side well. Picture the energy flow.

Totally agree with Gerry. Also, the hips aren't moving very much at all. She is assimilating weight transfer with a bending of the waist, getting her upper body too far forward, causing a strange initial bat angle which she tries to correct by bending her bottom hand wrist downward to get the barrel on plane. My dd often does the same thing. Weight transfer with hips, keep head quiet, and she will have the correct "tilt" for a good bat angle without bending the bottom hand wrist.

WOW, our old hitting coach would be very proud of her. This would be the end result of his efforts. Its a jab step swing. Jab, squish bug, drive knee down and in.

Her swing is not as down as his, but she hits it about 2 feet in front of her foot. SHe appears to have been well coached by someone.

The post by redhotcoach, that girl is on the right track, love her action, look at the back foot, and compare the difference between the two.

If you learn why the girls foot in redhots post, does what it does, you will learn good lower mechanics.

I have have to work on 30 + girls who jab step, and all the parents believe in the jab step, and think i am full of "strange notions"
