Sorry BBF Base ball Forum. The above was a cut and paste by one of the so called experts who constantly attacks softball D1 coaches. It is kind of funny when you find out who they are on the internet. They make themself look smart on here, but don't coach or teach. Just because you can talk the talk, doesn't mean you can teach it. If your kid can't make the local high school team, you wonder how good of a teacher they are.

Oh man SB! I thought you wrote it! I thought what is wrong with this guy!

Maybe it's about this post ..... http://www.discussfastpitch.com/softball-hitting-technical/9722-teaching-hitting-hip-coil-12.html#post111382

We agree!? College coaches tamper with swings for a very simple reason, IMO. Most of them (not all, I think Lotief, Enquist, Candrea, and Pat Murphy have at least a vague idea) haven't the slightest idea how to make small modifications to anything that even slightly resembles a good swing in order to get a player "in the pattern/sequence". So what do they do? They teach something that they KNOW how to modify. And quite simply, that something is the "knob to the ball, push through contact" linear.

So they teach it. And then they complain when their hitters can't hit.

Ah! First cut missing some parts. I remember now.

Yes ... sort of taken out of context. Some folks do that ... go figure.

The way I read the original post, at least within the context of the discussion that was taking place, is that Pat Murphy was being held above many D1 coaches in terms of what he teaches.

Yea, he was given the glowing endorsement of having "at least a vague idea"

What do you figure the motive was for not answering the post in the thread that it was made in? The post was made here at DFP after all. Why start a new thread … copy a partial segment of a different post … while not referencing the author … or even initially acknowledging that the content was of someone else … and why take the discussion out of context to begin with? Just seems a bit odd to me. I doubt that is what the leader of his camp wishes to be associated with … but perhaps I’m wrong. Just seems a bit silly and lacking to me. But I understand the campish attitudes of some here ... which also seems a bit silly to me.
