Now before you laugh at me and tell me to look at the label.... here this out. I was told by a acquantance who had just weighed 2 brand new in wrapper stealth speed 33/23 bat on a good postal scale and set them un packaged and reported that they weighed in at 24.5 oz each.

Now out on the rumor mills I heard that Easton, suffering from lousy sales of the clarity series bats, made some "changes" to give their bats more pop. 1.5oz would do thatfor sure!

Anybody actually weighed your bats? is a 23 a 23 ?. different bats different models?

The manufacturers have to give you a little extra or you wouldnt have anything to take away when you send the bat off to be shaved! lol

Just Kidding!!!!

I found this out this fall on the baseball side when trying to do overweight and underweight training.

My son's Easton 31/28 -3 was more like a 31/30 -1.

I don't see why their softball bats would be any different.

The posted weight is swing weight, which means what the weight of the bat actually would feel like when being swung, although I don't know how you would weigh it when swinging. Daughters 32/23 rocket tech weighs about 24.9, composite Schutt 32/22 weighs 22.3, and composite Schutt 33/24 weighs 25.9. Rocket tech uses a solid knob which places weight below the hand and therefore changes balance point of bat and thus swing weight. Not sure what if anything Schutt does to there endloaded to have almost same weight differential as Rocket tech but differential looks consistent with the weight of the -9 Eastons you have seen.

It varies by manufacturer and bat - DD's 33/23 CF weighs 22.5 oz, Anderson Nanotek 34/24 weighs 24 oz, and Anderson Techzilla 33/23 weighs 25.4 oz.

Swing a lot of bats and find one that fits DD's swing mechanics and feels good

Bought my DD daughter a new bat this year because her batting coach said she needed a longer one. She was using a Louisville tps 32/22 and I found a good deal on a Easton 33/23 synergy speed which she now loves. ( Shes hit 8 balls over the fence in practice this summer on a regulation field)
I had a chance to weigh the two bats recently on a postal scale and they were 22.0 for the tps and 24.4 for the synergy speed, so based on my 1 unit example it does seem if Eastons may be a little heavy.

I worried that this might be a little heavy for my DD, shes 13 5'8" and weighs 170. She seems to swing it well though. She recently tryed out for and made her first travel ball team so we'll see. JS aka 308

Most if not all Anderson E/L bats will be heavier than the sold weight, its been that way since the 2004 and probably beyond that, makes you realise why some kids get so screwed up trying to swing a rocketech , going from a 32 oz balanced to a 32 e/l can jump up the weight on the end by sometimes as much as 3 oz,s............
