I found some 10 inch bouncy balls at Dollar Tree, yesterday, that will be perfect for batting practice. I have good Lite Flites but have been losing a few to the cactuses around here.

So, these $1.00 balls should be good.

They look like little basketballs.

.

OK, Amy, you may need to provide pix because I'm stuck envisioning lite-flite "fruit-bearing" cacti in and around your game fields and practice areas!

If one of my lite flites happens to go over the backstop and fly into the landscaping (multiple brushy cacti), it gets loaded with almost invisible needles. A softball can, too.

If the ball is not visible you do not go in after it, due to rattle snakes.

Wednesday we were practicing at the same park Amy goes to. (Amy, have you seen all the new "dirt" they are bringing in? Nice!) Another coach was catching for a pitcher at the pitching lane on the side of the field and the ball went into the desert. He came back with two balls, the other one had my last name on it - LOL! Can't say how long it had been there, but will admit I probably didn't look too hard for it for fear of rattlesnakes!

This time of year, you gals are troopers pitching, catching, practicing in 110 degree summer heat in the AZ desert!

Wow - all we have to worry about here in the NE is poison ivy

We have to worry about snakes, but luckily not rattlers. Or maybe worse--at least the rattlers warn you. There are some not far from here, occasionally one will turn up... hopefully they ain't slowly penetrating this area!
