Not here.
What do you believe the role of the hip/hips are??
Rear hip is a pivot point. Your DD basicly flattens THEN swings.
I gave JMH opinion of the swing posted.

I know, it isn’t anything personal just wanting to know what is meant by what you wrote. No worries if you don’t want to elaborate that is fine but I don’t understand what is meant by a hip powered swing.

Okay flattens what.... the barrel??
Yes.

Your DD flattens the barrel then spins around her body onto her front leg/hip. To me her front hip/leg is her pivot point. It's what I see happening during the posted cage/matrix swings. If a hitter was looking for a swing with adjust-ability this might not be it. If a hitter was looking for high #/readings in a cage then this might be the swing.
Again JMHO. Take it for what its worth and I'm guessing nothing.

The only way the back hip is a pivot point is if the core/spine isn’t used as the center of rotation. In reality the core pulls the back leg/hip/knee into rotation. It’s called the weight shift. In good swings the mass needs to get forward before the swing is launched. Its called the ‘hitting position’. Failure to get the COM centered before swinging will create timing, balance and adjustability issues.

This is why you will see the back foot stay down or skip or come off the ground. It is just a reaction to what is taking place upstairs and the timing of this action.
There is more but thats the ‘meat’ of it.

Shift THEN swing. Got it.

So,what is it FORWARD THEN SWING or CENTERED BEFORE SWING.
The only way the back hip is a pivot point is if the core/spine isn’t used as the center of rotation.
Spine isn't the center of rotation or shouldn't be. Core takes in a lot more 'area' then spine(which is specific).

Shift then swing is a hoax. Made up by someone that doesn’t understand weight shift. The middle shifts... BUT the hands and back hip are still loaded and back. The ‘swing’ still hasn’t happened yet , BUT getting into a leveraged position to hit fast and adjust to off speed is what has taken place when one is in a good hitting position at this point in the swing.

Forward before swing is ‘forward yet back’. It’s elusive. Not many understand. Without it your either abaf. Or ab. Or af.

When you load the weight goes back into your back leg/hip/heel. When you move forward correctly your COMasssss(keyword MASS)will go back and then center up during your forward move. MEANWHILE your hands and the WEIGHT that you stored during your load will stay back. In essence you have weight in the ‘middle’ now as well as some ‘back’ still in your back leg. ‘Forward YET back’. Or balanced. Or dynamically balanced.
