Is bat wrap that much of a issue?

My daughter seems to wrap the bat. Is that a issue right now?

How old is she? I honestly thinks she looks pretty good! My DD is a senior this year and I've been trying for the longest to get her to put the bat more in the slot with no success. She doesn't wrap, she keeps the bat more vertical and loads her hands (and the bat) more rearward towards the ump. She has tons of power for such a small girl and crazy fast hands, I just feel she would produce more power with the bat more in the slot like in the video FFS posted!

I wouldn't worry about..it may change next week just like she isn't toe tapping anymore..kids :rolleyes:LOL!!

Truth! LOL - She has been doing this stride for over a month. The beginning of the session in the video she didn't stride at all. I said are you not striding. She, Sais "I thought I wasn't striding anymore!" LOL all I could do is shake my head and facepalm.

Miggy has been known to go back and forth from stride to no stride (for various reasons..probably timing related) so she has something
in common with him!! :p

She's 8. I've just recently been working with her and creating separation during the stride. I've told her not really to load her hands and bat rearward linear, but to "Pull back" and up with the elbow. I didn't use terms like scap, because she's 8. She would say what's a scap LOL. I'm trying to put it in simpler terms for her to understand. I've said before at her age is tough to communicate what she should be feeling during the loading of the bat.

I’m more concerned with hitting in the living room than anything else. I’m sure that’ll change once you get the cage built in the back yard, right?

Bat wrap is a major issue as girls get older. Bat wrap prevents the hands/elbow from slotting and causes players to pull off the ball due to trying to get their hands through. Timing issues also as one poster pointed out a longer swing around the the body and ball
