My daughter is 8. She did the same exact thing pretty much. She told me it was a way for her to get into a ready to hit position. I believe is what I did was had her go no stride Approach for a while. The link above is the thread of me asking the same question as you. Below is a video of when my daughter was doing the double stride. Its very similar to what your dd is doing.
I wonder what would happen if you worked in a toe tap.

LOL, Yeah, a toe tap that goes backwards. She might just slot and shift anyways.
You can edit out that double load with the right software.
Even without the double load (edit it out) she would still be slotting and shifting.
edit: or how many also look at it, she would still be shifting and then swinging.
