Took some videos of DD (9yo) practicing tonight during her lesson. When making the GIF I noticed she is doing a double step load. Also seems like she is getting a little too much weight onto the front leg. Thoughts?

Was the pitch too slow for her? It almost looks like she was fooled by the speed of the pitch (the extra toe tap could be her trying to get her timing right, too). Or if it was a machine, was the loading of the machine a little wonky on that pitch?

Looks more like a habitual pause to me. I'd lose it.

My daughter is 8. She did the same exact thing pretty much. She told me it was a way for her to get into a ready to hit position. I believe is what I did was had her go no stride Approach for a while. The link above is the thread of me asking the same question as you. Below is a video of when my daughter was doing the double stride. Its very similar to what your dd is doing.

You can edit out that double load with the right software. ;)

Even without the double load (edit it out) she would still be slotting and shifting.

edit: or how many also look at it, she would still be shifting and then swinging.
