I can't think of anything more destructive to the development of a good hitter than preventing their rear shoulder from becoming lowered.
Let me be clear so that I don't damage her coaches reputation this was me trying to understand what she was being told to stay tall meant. After reading everyone's helpful comments I now understand the rear shoulder is not the issue it's a posture thing.

Thank you Ang.

I was responding to the title of the thread ... "Dropping shoulder or leg issue". I'm totally serious ... there is little I can do with a kid that has bought into a 'level shoulder' mentality. My post wasn't necessarily directed towards you, but towards the many folks that chant "Billy, you dropped your rear shoulder again" ... those coaches mean well, but they are hurting their hitters more than helping them.

While I have your attention ... review RDBASS' advice ... and if you don't understand it, then ask him what he meant. He's been there and done it ... he won't bite ... he's here to help.

My 06 daughter is struggling with consistency. Overall she is a good hitter with as much power as bigger girls on her team. She plays for arguably the best organization in the midwest. We're trying see what to work on...I see her standing up in her swing, I also see her dropping the back shoulder. These are her worst swings from the lesson not the best ones but I felt these highlight the flaws. I posted before but couldn't post the video. Hopefully this works

Check out this video I made with Coach's Eye! https://www.coachseye.com/v/adaa533f131b4d3cafee1ae815b6ce2e

I like her swing a lot. Would love to to see a straight on side view as well.....

Hey all, just an update we did some tee work this week incorporating some of the tips here and showing her some of the video clips. She absolutely killed it this weekend at her IU camp. Strong and consistent. I wish I had an updated video to post but it was much better.

amen.

And when you ask a girl how she is supposed to keep her eyes on the ball at contact and then do it with level shoulders and then watch them try and do it.... ridiculous.
