Eric,

I don’t know if your looking for critiques. Personally to me she is back leg driven. The core never gets in front to leverage her swing, therefore her upper body load has to much slack(notice the excessive counter rotation) in some swings. In others she swings uphill with more hands(Kudos to her for trying to figure it out). The slack needs to be taken out immediately during the negative move. This sets up the positive move to stretch and leverage the core reactively as well as bypass the active shoulder involvement as well as ‘letting the hips lead’ BUT in a reactive way.

The flow should feel like front-back-front-back. Like 4 corners.

Puig is not my favorite. But it’s a good gif to see the flow of energy through the core.
Jmo. Omv.

Bottom line is the negative move needs resistance. I’m sure everyone is tired of me saying it. I know I am. :)

I don't mind comments and discussion. There are definitely things that she needs to work on. This session was exploratory for her after being introduced to some new approaches with a new instructor earlier that day.

WW, almost on the same page here ... the slack needs to be removed as one is arriving towards their swing launch orientation, which occurs during the positive move.

As the body COM moves ‘back’ the front shoulder reacts and moves down and in because of resistance. Essentially taking slack out of the system immediately. Which in turn loads the rear leg/hip as well as the upper front side. To me this is the first 2 corners of the 4 corner load of the core. During the forward move I believe the other 2 corners become loaded through the kinetic chain. If the first portion of this chain is broken, I believe the hitter is left in scramble mode and will leak power, adjustability as well as have less time to react aka out of balance. They will leverage whatever time will allow.

Here’s Miggy with the first 2 corners.

It would be similar to energy being transferred and stored and transferred and stored until launch. Imo the frontside gives the energy to the backside, which is used at launch sequentially to allow for adjustability and change of speed.

Let's take the bold above first.

I believe you state this because you promote a FbC like movement in which the torso initially pulls back 'around' a resisting rear leg. Does that sound about right. Feel free to rephrase.

Not really. The energy runs through the front shoulder back to the back hip and through the back heel into the ground. The coil would be the storing of this energy which is then transported forward and used sequentially later. Imo. Hopefully you can picture my description.

Which is why I say the action occurs up through swing launch and is inclusive of the positive move.
