I think I finally have made a break through on getting my daughter to understand that the cannot lean back and stay back in her stride. The video below is last night. I had to change my terminology in what I was saying to her. So instead of saying "Stride", I said to "Walk." That seem to make the light bulb go off for her. While not perfect, I think its a good start. Maybe that term might help some of you with younger kids batting.

The tee set up in the toy room made my day. Not sure what you are trying to teach her so No comment on her swing except pretty darn good for her age.

Ball is too far forward in the setup..try and have it such that her stride foot is landing a bit in front of where the ball is placed.

Noted - Next time have her take a swing and have her pause to position it at a proper distance.

She was trying to work on, not over cooking the gather. As in a all back all forward swing. The picture is what she typically does.

So Cal
I like this stride movement a lot better than the reach she was doing before. :)

A sequence adjustment...Ask her to pull her hands back at the same time as she is "walking" forward. Right now, she is pulling her hands back and leaving them there, riding forward with the body. Getting the timing right will promote a good flow into launch, rather than a pull-back and pause before launch.

A setup adjustment...Rear foot - Turn the rear foot so it is square, or even turned slightly forwards (towards the pitcher). Her rearward foot placement is encouraging the rear knee to get behind the rear foot.

When you say pull the hands back, are you saying straight back as in towards the catcher like you would a bow?

Her rear foot she is working on. She remembers a few times then forgets LOL.

I hesitate to use "towards the catcher" because some young players will interpret that to mean straightening the front arm and pushing their hands rearward away from the back shoulder. I like what she's doing now, as she settles into her back leg. That said, looking at it again, don't mess with it right now. I'm betting she will find the flow as all of these things come together for her.
