I am having a hard time understanding the weight shift. So I have a few questions:

1. Are two legged swingers, shift then swing?
2. And one legged swingers, the shift is the swing?
3. If the bellybutton/mass/weight is moving toward the pitcher
(laterally) is it shifting? Or has it not shifted (IYO) until front foot is planted?

"What do you think of the cue that the hands and weight come forward together? "

I think it would be a very bad cue. Part of separation/stretch/coil/getting rid of slack or whatever you like to call it, is the weight shift before the hands.IMHO

4. What percentage of mlb players are 2 legged swingers?

I have Dave Hudgens DVD's and he teaches for the weight to be back 60/40 as the stride is completed. He says the weight goes from back to center. In his swing he completes the stride with the weight back and then shifts the weight forward/center, hips slide forward. Technically the weight is back as the stride is completed, although do you shift the weight forward as you swing? I know you don't shift the weight forward like Hudgen does in his video who thinks he is using weight shift and rotational.

The way he did was wrong. He completed the stride with the weight back and then shifted the weight and then swung. Massive hip slide.
