I relocated this post as it was supposed to go here in the first place.

U18 team and some of the players have a recurring issue with wrist roll. i know I've heard of some but can't remember what the best drills are for this. Reverse top hand? one handed swings bottom hand only?
thanks

Reverse top hand might work/help and bottom hand swings as well. Reverse top hand drills does take away the ability to roll the wrists.

Yeager is a quack and if you believe he is right or his observations are even close to being correct then we don't see eye to eye on the swing.

Well, you are entitled to your opinion.

So now you are promoting pushing to extension ... and your excuse is that "Yeager is a quack"???

Long tee! Feedback! Have them set up to the plate, put tee where it simulates an inside belt high pitch(out in front) and have them hit line drives over 3rd base.(no cheating with the feet) When they can do this, they will not be rolling over. You can give them little clues or cues but let them figure it out and it becomes more natural-less taught. Less thinking- more doing. You start talking to girls about deeper extension and the second extension, pronation, abduction, blah blah blah most girls aren't going to hear a word you are saying.

Simply not true or a good objective.

Ortiz certainly did not have a goal of reaching full extension with a palm-up orientation.

A muscled palm-up to extension effort will create tension that will result in achieving less barrel speed through impact.

The top hand/wrist ulnar deviates, and then the rear forearm pronates (i.e., rolls over).
