Julray, I am a bit short on time and will be until sometime tomorrow. Hopefully some others can chime in. Some of the responses you received were in the ballpark imo.

View some high level hitters. Take note that the lead shoulder becomes elevated. The movement of the lead lat will/should translate to the lead arm essentially being pulled. Your daughter increases the height of her lead lat by essentially standing up. View the pros while focusing on the torso/hip-engine ... sort of a twist-up ... not a stand-up.

All good 5frames... I appreciate your time and comments. Thanks again!!

Hi Tango, what do you mean by tilt too early?

When I watch your DD swing it looks like she is trying to separate more while tilting. Then she has to spin to flatten out the bat. IMO, its a good move to keep her from dumping the barrel big time. I want the stretch to be completed (continual gather) before you tilt. The hands must start turning the barrel as we tilt. The tilt will adjust to the height of the ball. Not tilt then swing.

Read ya loud and clear Tango, I know what you are referring to. Thanks for explaining in detail for the rookie, :). Although if you look at Griffey, he seems to tilt before. Do you agree, maybe I am seeing this incorrectly?

Haven't looked at Griffey in years. Have a friend that played with him in Seattle. His stretch is very good and I feel if you have a good stretch you will always have some tilt unless you swing straight down. It also looks to me like he held his hips or coil a little. Maybe actually fooled and still hit it a mile. He doesn't tilt much on this pitch. IMO

Forget sometimes these swings aren't off a tee, :). Maybe I should model my DD's swing off one of Vladdy's epic hits, :)

Chehalis, Wa
While not the same thing is happening, she might just be setting up a slightly different pivot point or rotational point. It might not b a flaw at all, just different compared to Pujols.
