Notice how she stands taller at contact... I want her to stay low and drive through, but I am having a tough time correcting this, we tried drills, we tried everything, but she reverts back to standing taller at contact. I think the back foot skips too far forward.. IDK

Yes, I do see that she completely re-positions her head between launch and contact. There is a great deal of movement.

You might try not getting so deep in the stance. Try to be more up and sit into rotation instead of being deep and standing up as the front leg extends (she is using the front leg to stand up).

Makes it look easy, so smooth, continuous and sudden at the same time.

how about laying down behind her and hanging on to her back foot? probably sounds strange but that's what I did with my DD to show her how it felt to lift her back heel and drive with the ball of her foot. in this case, I was laying down perpidicular to her. I'm assuming the back foot kicking forward is a problem here.

Your DD is 1 legged just the wrong leg(front) JMHO.
Take some time to 'feel' what Kemp is doing. And what your DD is not doing.
That's quite likely, it's a good opinion

Pay attention to the rear hip of Kemp. Try and 'feel' where his weight is compared to your DD.
I can certainly see it. Love how he keeps everything back as he moves forward... and then BAM he explodes into the ball

Your DD is 'muscling' up her swing pushing with her rear arm. Which follows the shoulder turn.
Isn't it ironic, she's right handed and right footed, but uses both of the weaker hands/arms and feet/legs to power her swing.

IMO, too late in the year to start screwing with it too much, she had qualifiers, provincials and then nationals within the next 4 weeks

Thanks. I think RD's got it right.. If I can fix that, then I won't have to leg hug.:)

Rich tweeted about the type of separation you are looking for. You may find it helpful.

I was aiming for this.. and when she does this drill she does it well. But, not in the stride attempt I filmed yesterday. Anyway.. she's happy with the no stride and hitting well right now. I was just curious how it looked on camera. She's hitting the change up and no problem with the flame throwers, but she's struggles a little against consistently slow pitchers. She needs to be a little more patient with those guys.. shes either way ahead.. or behind a little because she's thinking change up speed. Her timing needs to be better. And again I am not liking how she stands taller at contact.. = more ground balls and power leakage.

In my experience, while your dd might struggle against slower pitching, that is nothing to worry about. In the big time games and as she continues to improve, she won't be facing those types of pitchers. I have a young lady taking hitting lessons with me who is second year 12U. She has been asked to play up for a 14U team. As with my dd, that team then jumped to 16U for a tournament. This young lady hit 3rd in the lineup and hit a couple of bombs last weekend. As I mentioned to her, for slow pitching we have strategies that can help gear down. However, if you don't have the ability to hit the heat, there aren't too many strategies that will enable her to gear up successfully.

Not here.

With the swings posted the 'ball needs to hit the barrel'. Where as good hitters the 'barrel hits the ball'. Seems to be no adjust ability in this swing. DD is 'guessing'. Again JMHO.
