38' vs 43' - Hitters perspective

So up here north of the border our 14u girls pitch at 38'. We have a tournament in Michigan this weekend and of course the pitching distance is 43'. I am worried about change ups, and other junk (especially drop ball). Any words of wisdom for a hitter moving from 38' - 43'?

Going to be a learning experience. Hitters get longer to see pitch. I think your hitters will crush it. Your pitchers may struggle. Good Luck!

Our pitchers will struggle for sure. My DD pulls almost everything at 38'... I am little concerned about her. Maybe she should be thinking opposite field just to let the ball get a little deeper. Of course when it comes down to it, it's all about timing. I don't think I will say anything at all, besides move up in the box.

Julray ... many coaches throw front-toss to their hitters at a reduced distance prior to going full distance ... and typically they think little of their hitters adjusting.

Truth is, there is an adjustment ... but it isn't a huge deal ... the basic swing stays the same. Don't put unnecessary fear into the kid's heads.

Yes I am thinking that as well.. I won't mention a thing unless I see her being way out front. However, she should adjust naturally
