Head first slides into 3rd base. Will purposely make contact with fielder to get obstruction call.
When DD was younger she was called that occasionally, it is kind of a backdoor compliment.
Not a term I use anymore, I like gamer better.

I think it was meant as a compliment? “That’s a good little catcher you have back there. Scrappy.” She is little & I guess surprising? She has also been called Mighty Mouse and the little wall. I agree, it sounds a little backhanded. More like, “whoa I’m surprised she is good.” Oh well, they didn’t know she was my daughter, so I’ll take it as a compliment
& I wouldn’t compare her to Pete Rose
